INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS

General Information

Sokolský běh republiky in Prague will take place in the BIG RACE format. This means that time is measured by a professional timing system. At the finish line, the organizers will award the fastest runners. But every participant will enjoy it! What can you look forward to? In the event village, everyone picks up their starter pack with a bib number and other gifts from the organizers and partners, and at the finish line, a beautiful medal in the shape of the republic awaits everyone.

Runners can look forward to facilities at Tyršův dům, where the entire accompanying program will take place. Various sports and non-sports activities will be prepared for children. Adult runners will also find plenty to enjoy. The main race route leads through Petřín Gardens, where, besides beautiful views of Prague, surprise spots along the route await runners. Children's categories will run a flat route in Kampa Park.

Main Route

➤ Adults 5.6 km

The main race begins with a joint walk from Tyršův dům to the starting location on Hellichova street. Immediately after the start, runners will be tested by a climb toward the Petřínské terasy restaurant; the route then passes under the funicular railway and plunges into winding serpentines offering competitors magnificent views of Prague. The path continues upward to the picturesque pond with a sea lion statue, from where runners head beneath the Petřín Lookout Tower and onward toward the Great Strahov Garden. The return path leads them past Vojířova štola and, after passing the Petřínské terasy restaurant once more, all that remains is a well-deserved downhill run to the finish on Hellichova street. The route is suitable for both experienced runners and amateurs who want to enjoy the atmosphere of Sokolský běh republiky and celebrate the founding of the republic through movement.

Children's Routes

➤ 800 m - birth years 2012 - 2015

The start of the race is at Tyršův dům. Children run one longer loop through Kampa Park and back to the finish line at Tyršův dům. A cyclist will lead the way ahead of the children. The route leads along paved, mostly asphalt paths.

➤ 400 m - birth years 2016 - 2021

The start of the race is at Tyršův dům. Children run one shorter loop through Kampa Park and back to the finish line at Tyršův dům. A cyclist will lead the way ahead of the children. The route leads along paved, mostly asphalt paths.

➤ 100 m - birth years 2022 and younger

The start is in Kampa Park and runs to Tyršův dům.

Facilities for Runners

Tyršův dům; Újezd 450/40, Malá Strana, Prague 1

Luggage storage, changing rooms, and toilets will be provided in the facilities at Tyršův dům.

Parking and Transport

There is no parking lot provided at the race location. If you arrive by car, we recommend parking near the Anděl shopping center and taking the tram to the Tyršův dům stop (4 stops) to reach the race facilities.

From the opposite direction (Malostranská), the nearest tram stop is Pražské Jezulátko or Újezd.
