INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS

General Information

The Sokol Run of the Republic in Hora Svaté Kateřiny will take place in a RACE format. This means that timing may not be done with official timekeeping equipment. But don't worry, you won't miss out on your final time or the winners' announcement! And what will you get from the organizers? At the facilities, everyone can pick up their starter pack with a bib number and other gifts from the organizers and partners. A beautiful medal in the shape of the republic awaits everyone at the finish line.

This is a race on the ridge of the Ore Mountains (Krušné hory). In October, there might be snow, but it also offers runners a unique opportunity to enjoy a run through the beautiful nature of the Ore Mountains. The route traditionally leads through mountainous terrain with elevation gain; at the beginning of the race, there is a rather steep climb to the upper part of the village.

Main Route

➤ Adults 5.2 km

The race route starts at the Caravan Camp complex and follows an asphalt road northwest. It then continues for about 500 meters through the center of the village across Pionýrů Square and then turns into a field path. At the 3-kilometer mark, the route turns, and runners return to the finish on an unpaved forest surface.

Children's Routes

➤ 1.4 km - BIRTH YEARS 2011 - 2014

Older children will run a loop in the forest and on an unpaved field path. The route is on a forest path with a slight elevation gain. The return point leads across a meadow, which can be waterlogged/slightly muddy in the autumn, depending on the weather. The start and finish are at the Caravan Camp complex.

➤ 500 m - BIRTH YEARS 2015 - 2018

The course is flat/has a slight elevation gain and follows a forest path, where after 250 meters, runners will turn and run back to the finish.

➤ 250 m - BIRTH YEARS 2019 AND YOUNGER

The course is flat and follows a forest path, where after 125 meters, runners will turn and run back to the finish.

Accompanying Program

Every year, an exhibition is held in the complex - a forest gallery called "Neither profit, nor glory" with pictures of famous Sokol personalities.

Facilities for Runners

A proven complex with nice facilities, brick-and-mortar toilets, and a restaurant at the race site. There are refreshment stands in the complex, and in case of bad weather, a fire will be lit to keep warm.
